We are looking for a Technical Specialist in Geotechnics for Trafikverket.

This is a consulting assignment.

The position is part-time, with a scope of approximately 70 percent.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

The specialist works to support the programs and their project management during the implementation of planning, design, and construction phases, ensuring that documents meet the required technical, sustainable, and functional criteria. The specialist has an advisory and supportive role based on knowledge and experience. The specialist may also have more coordinated roles, coordinating issues and other specialists within their own or multiple subject areas. The specialist is an expert in their field and ensures that projects comply with Trafikverket's management system and governing documents related to their area of expertise. The specialist participates in the work of specifying requirements within their area of expertise, as well as in following up on these. The specialist supports technical questions and performs reviews and checks of documents. The specialist participates in consulting and contracting procurements as support in, for example, the development of assignment descriptions, requirement specifications, scope assessments, and in the evaluation of suppliers.Responsibilities• Provide support for construction management and project management.• Assist with technical advice.• Review analyses, calculations, and designed geotechnical measures.• Follow up on controls during the execution phase and be part of the organization for site follow-up.• Technical review of temporary and permanent geostructures. (structures that, to meet the required criteria or intended function, depend on the properties of the subsoil, e.g., sheet piling, piling, ground reinforcement, embankments, cut slopes, etc.)• Geotechnical specialist competence for the development of standards, construction requirements, and regulations, etc.

Requirements (NOTE, mandatory)

a) Education equivalent to a Swedish Master's degree in engineering with relevant specialization for the specialist area or, through other theoretical and practical education and/or experience, credibly demonstrated equivalent knowledge in the specialist area of geostructures.
b) At least ten (10) years of professional experience in the specialist area of geostructures.
c) Familiarity, as a geostructural engineer or reviewer, with Trafikverket's technical regulations from at least two road or railway projects in the production phase, within the last five (5) years.
d) Documented experience in reviewing and assessing FEM calculations (Finite Element Modelling).
e) Ability to express oneself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
f) Self-driven and takes responsibility for their tasks while having good teamwork skills and the ability to prioritize the project's best interests.
g) The consultant has the ability to communicate and maintain a good dialogue with authorities, consultants, and colleagues for long-term relationships.
